New DWI law
Drinking and Driving is not new to the States. Law enforcements are finally coming down on you law breakers and they are coming down hard. This blog (extreme DWI) has really informed me because I didn't know anything about a new DWI law. These people that were driving drunk have found new ways to break the law. I had read on MyFoxAustin that there was a man who had his 8 year old daughter being his designated driver; yes I said 8 years old. An 8 year old probably drives as bad as a drunken person. I've actually read quite a few stories similar to this. These people just don't know that if you have a kid being your designated driver, you can be charged for child endangerment as well. I'm glad that they are finally making this a HUGE deal.
Cyberbullying should be made a law
Cyberbullying is when a person is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrased or otherwise targeted by another person using the internet, or any technology.
What happens after cyberbullying is what's important. Some people are not strong enough mentally to handle torments. Some of these victims try to commit suicide and succeed. Alex Pilkington, 17, was a victim of cyberbullying. She was not strong mentally to handle it, she committed suicide. The worst thing about this is that the vicious taunts persisted postmortem on the internet, on her tribute pages.
Another case of cyberbullying is this young girl Amber Cole. She was viciously taunted on networking sites as well. Amber had a video of her posted on the internet of her giving a young man oral sex on school grounds. I saw people posting things about her on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. Amber was so upset that she had twitted some things that had people thinking she was contemplating suicide.
Everyone will eventually be bullied, whether it's cyberbullying or not. The only way to prevent it is to not join any networking websites. We know that being bullying can lead to suicide or the death of the bully. When the person being bullied snaps and kills the bully, they are charged with murder. I feel that if the bully causes the victim to commit suicide then they should be charged with murder. Yes I know that they are not physically harming them but they are mentally. They are killing them in the inside. There needs to be a law for cyberbullying, especially if it leads to death.

Parents will become the Teachers
Sex in schools is a big issue these days. With teen pregnancy so high we need somebody to teach these young adults about sex and how to use contraceptives. There are a lot of parents that say they want to be the ones that teach their child about sex and contraceptives but what these parents don’t realize is that their children might not want to have that conversation with them. Most parents try to teach their child absence only until they are married but realistically that’s not going to happen. By the time your child have the sex conversation with you it’s to tell you that they are pregnant.
Kids these days are afraid of having the sex conversation with us parents because they feel that we will be mad at them, which in most cases, they are right. Another reason why they don’t come to us about sex can be because of religious reasons. Their family might be strongly against sex before marriage, and in some cases their family/church will disown them.
During my high school days we didn’t have Sex Education, we had Health Education. In Health Ed we talked about STDs and their symptoms, and what they can do to our body. We did not discuss contraceptives; they didn’t show us how to put on condoms or any of that useful stuff you see in movies.
If Sex Ed continues to be absence only, our children will only have us or their friends to talk to about sex. Their friends are in the same age group as them so they don’t know more, if any, than your child. We as parents need to step up, learn more information about sex, and be prepared to teach our children when the time comes.
